Industrial tribunal judges
The joint training UAPG-CGAS, organized by the Labour University of Geneva, is proposed to the elected judges of industrial tribunals. It is aimed at all the judges representing employees and salaried workers.
The joint UAPG-CGAS training course for judges in industrial tribunals is financed by the Vocational Training and Development Fund. Furthermore, in association with the Judiciary and the Law faculty of the University of Geneva, and in accordance with articles 1 and 2 of the regulation concerning the certificate for presidents or conciliators of the jurisdiction of industrial tribunals (E3 10.03), the joint UAPG-CGAS training course also provides training for judges of industrial tribunals who wish to take the examination for the certificate of president of the industrial tribunal jurisdiction.
The classes are given by lawyers specialized in labour law, representatives of unions, and by professor Gabriel Aubert, as well as judges from the Law Courts and lawyers from the industrial tribunal juridiction. The course is tailored to the specific needs of judges and designed to match up closely with their practical experience.
The programme of the classes which is set out below is an integral part of the compulsory teaching for the judges of industrial tribunals wishing to take examinations for certification. It spans three years and judges who wish to enrol for examinations, of which the first session will take place in autumn 2009, must attend regularly (80% of the classes).
